With San Diego Comic Con right around the corner, all eyes are on the biggest the studios have to offer, but before we get swept up in all that madness how about taking a trip to the set of an independent film being shot in New York City?
Zarra’s Law tells the story of two brothers, a retired police detective and another busy with far less noble work. When the latter is murdered, the other, Tony Zarra (Tony Sirico), winds up having to put a foot back into the criminal world to find out what happened to his younger brother.
Just the other week, the Zarra’s Law filmmakers were kind enough to have me on set to observe the preparation process for shooting a scene that takes place in an Italian restaurant right down the block from Washington Square Park. The producers, stars and more were all on hand to discuss the film and exactly what it takes to transform Volare into the on-screen restaurant where Tony and Gaetano (Brendan Fehr) go to have a little chat.
Check it all out in the behind-the-scenes video below and be sure to keep an eye out for more from Zarra’s Law soon, as the filmmakers have their eye on a Christmas release.
