The Best – and Worst – Movie Trailers of the Week

GravityIt’s frat boy Zac Efron vs. Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne’s quaint suburban couple. The trailer for Neighbors should have been hilarious, but instead, all we got was a mildly appealing scenario with familiar and forgettable jokes. Perhaps they’re just saving the good stuff for the full feature, but that still means the film misses out Best Stuff honors this week.

The Best Stuff

1. GravitySay hello to yet another outstanding piece of promotional material for Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity. The sound design and editing here are just impeccable. Not only is the scenario inherently unnerving, but every single audio and visual decision enhances that sensation tenfold. And to top it all off, this trailer actually manages to expand upon previous promos in a way that leaves you even more eager to catch the full film, as you’re desperate to know how all of these new story elements actually come together.
