You know what happens when you take the guy who played Vito Corleone, Jimmy Conway, and Ace Rothstein, give him a family and ship him off to witness protection in the French countryside? He beats the living daylights out of a plumber, resorts to threats to clean up the town water supply, and practically demolishes the neighborhood.
The Family features Robert De Niro as Fred Blake – or rather as Giovanni Manzoni, a former mob boss who snitched on his crew and had to relocate to Normandy, France to keep his wife (Michelle Pfeiffer) and kids (Dianna Agron and John D’Leo) safe. Trouble is, “the Blake family” has a tough time keeping a low profile. They may be able to run away from the backlash of Gio’s decision, but they’re still taking their brash behavior and violent tendencies right along with them.
